This project was about The Quito Metro (Spanish: Metro de Quito), an underground rail mass transit system consisting of a single line that is under construction in Quito, the capital of Ecuador. I needed to design a series of effective individual symbols that are culturally neutral and communicate a range of complex messages, which address people of different ages and cultures and are clearly legible at a distance. I was required to develop a series of 40 pictograms. I also needed to design a sequenced emergency evacuation instruction using a series of images to inform its audience. This project was all about pictograms and symbols. I needed to consider simplicity, target audience, colour and shape.

My final outcome was laser cut out of wood; it gave people a better idea how it would look like in reality. I think it looks trendy, different and clear.
